At the private boarding school, preschool students live on the following schedule. They follow this schedule seven days a week, but there are no classes on Sunday afternoon. They then have a four or five day break at the end of every month. The preschool students' sleeping rooms are next to their classrooms and playground. They only leave this area to go to the cafeteria.
Preschool classes are not offered nationally. There are some preschool centers for parents to pay for, but most children stay with a relative. Many parents send their children to this preschool program because they feel it will give them a head start in school. I have also seen parents who appear to be sending their children to school because they do not enjoy having small children. While I personally do not think small children should live in boarding schools, many of these children did have a healthier and more structured environment than they appeared to be receiving at their homes.
